Gatty Samaja began as a way to bring together a small, tight-knit Hindu caste from the coastal belt of Karnataka. Rooted in ancient Mangalore villages, Gatty families organized themselves into matrilineal clans—baris—that passed heritage down through daughters. Over centuries, migration took our people across India and into pockets abroad, yet each clan kept its unique rituals, ancestral shrines and festival traditions alive.
Today, Gatty Samaja is a gathering place where every lineage can share stories, preserve age-old customs and track family history in one digital home. From mapping ancestral homes and temple sites to hosting a calendar of monthly Sankramana pujas and the annual Bhutale and Parva ceremonies, we use technology to keep our cultural fabric strong.
This website tries to bridge the cultural gap for Gatty members by offering authentic experiences, educational resources, and a platform for lasting community bonds.
We focus on preserving and promoting the rich heritage of the Gatty community, ensuring that our traditions are passed down through generations.
Our platform fosters connections among Gatty members worldwide, enabling them to share stories, experiences, and support one another.
